Trying hard not to freak out re DE # after ER

9. they got 9. the nurse was all positive on the phone and said that's the number the doctor anticipated for the donor. im freaking.  what if none make it through fertilization and needless to say that i'm trying to make peace with the idea of having none to freeze.

    ((HUGS)) That is 9 chances, and you may even still have a few to freeze. I know it is so hard, but try not to give up hope yet.

    Dx: DH - Azoo, Me - Mild PCOS
    DH - sperm found! Seems to produce only for a few days every 70 days!
    Over 1 million in cryo in 15 vials over 6 samples
    IVF #1 - 1 beautiful expanded blast transferred, 4 snowbabies - beta #1 11/30/11 = BFFN
    FET #1, transfered 2 embies 2/16/12 = BFFN; 1 snowbaby left in cryo
    IVF #2 + CGH = 4 genetically normal embies on ice. FET September 26th
    SAIF/PAIF always welcome

    I don't think 9 is "bad".  We would all want more just to be safe but there's nothing you can do.  T&P's for a great fert report.  Try not to be discouraged. Big hugs:-)

    Me: 39 DH: 39 Dx: MFI, DOR, Poor Responder Our only option is IVF with ICSI; 1/11 IVF#1.1: Lupron flare, canceled lead follie/poor response; 3/11 IVF#1.2: EPP, canceled due to lead follicle/poor response; 10/11 IVF#1.3: Antagonist, microdose HCG, 2 embies 2dt BFN; 12/11 IVF #2: Stims started 12/17, ER: 12/27 3R, 1 mature, 1 fert, other 2 eggs matured overnight and rescue ICSI performed and both fertilized! (frozen on 12/30), On 12/29 1 2d 4-cell, grade 1 embie transferred. 1/12: Scheduled Beta, FX'd! IVF Snowflakes!

    Just remember... quality counts more than quantity!  I hope those 9 eggs are all high quality and grow into great embies for you.

    Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.

    IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.

    Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

    Sweetie - 9 is a good number. Like PP have said - of course we want more but I'll bet that you get some great fertilization. Good luck - can't wait to hear your good news!

    IVF #2 Lucky November 2011 - ER 11/25/2011 - 15 eggs!, 13 mature, 10 fertilized with isci - 7 made it to transfer! Transferred 1 - 8 cell and 2 - 7 cell. BFP!!!!
    1st U/S - Twins! 2nd U/S - 3 heartbeats!!! - HOLY COW!!!

    2 babies born on 3/27/12 and lost. Last baby born on 3/29/12 and lost at 20 weeks.

    IVF #4 October 2012 - New RE. Doing PGD Testing. 8 R, 7F, 2 made it to 5 day blast for PDG testing. Both Normal (Thank you G-d!!!) 1 boy and 1 girl
    transferred one beautiful 5day blast (girl)
    Please G-d the almighty one - let this be our take home baby!
    Beta #1 158, Beta #2 318, 1 Absolutely magnificent HB at 175! Thank you G-d!!!

    I'm sorry the number wasn't higher.  I know how hard it is not to worry.  By the time you get to DE, you just want everything to go perfectly, and it's so stressful.  But 9 high quality eggs is actually a lot to work with.  Just think of all of us DE ladies who have had success from split cycles where we only got half or a third of the eggs from a cycle.  They can do a lot with 9 eggs!  I will be thinking of you and hoping for a great fert report!  Take care!

    I'm sorry. I would probably be disappointed with nine too, if I was using a donor.  For me personally nine would be great.  I agree with what the other ladies have said, it really is quality and not quantity.  If your donor is young then most likely she will have young healthy eggs and you will get awesome embies.  best of luck.

    Thanks, everyone. I'm feeling a little bit better about it. Just trying to stay calm emo-wise because there's nothing I can do. Hoping that the quality is so so so good. I'll update tomorrow when they call with GOOD news.

    Good Luck...think positive!!

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    Ticker warning. 

     

    It only takes one! They retrieved 15 and 12 of them fertilized for me. 10 were good enough (2 to me and 8 frozen). My numbers are not much higher than yours. Some people get 40 but only 5 are good! I hope they all make it!! Hugs!!

    I know it's hard to not be disappointed, but 9 is a great number!  Try to have faith.  Hoping you get a great fert report and have some rock star embies!

    Nine isn't bad!! Sure, it's not 30, but you've got plenty to work with!!  It seems like some of the hardest things to deal with in IF is expectations.  We all have them and it's disappointing no matter what when they're not met.  But hang in there.  Many good thoughts and prayers to you for a great fert report!

    DH: low count + very low motility; hormones all normal; Sperm DNA Frag. test = poor to fair; male karyotyping normal
    Me: FSH 13.4 + AMH 0.26 + hypothyroidism; Scratch the hypothyrodism (?); Blood clotting and immune panel all negative; endometrial biopsy normal

    IVF #1 (MDLF - Jul/Aug 2011): BFN (9R, 5M, 3F with ICSI, 3dt of 1 10-cell grade 2, no frosties)
    IVF #2 (EP-antagonist - Sep/Oct 2011): BFN (6R, 4M, 3F w/ ICSI, 3dt of 1 6-cell, 1 7-cell, grade 4s, no frosties)
    DE IVF #1 (shared cycle - June 2012): c/p (6R, 6F w/ICSI, 3dt 1 8-cell grade A- and 1 7-cell grade A-; no frosties)
    DE IVF #2 (shared cycle with new donor - Nov/Dec/ 2012): - BFP!!!!! 12/14/12. U/S on 12/27 shows twins!!!!!

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

    I know it is hard but 9 is pretty good!  Try to hang in there and keep us updated on your fert report!  GL!!
    TTC since 3/07. IVF#1 = canceled. IVF#2 = 0% fertilization. IVF#3 = BFN. IVF#4 = c/p.  
    Moving forward with Adoption 2017!
