It occurred to me yesterday that it won't be long before R could very well remember something forever! I think I remember from about about 2.5 or 3 yrs, I know I remember before my parents divorce when I was 4. Some things are pretty vague, but others seem pretty clear.
How far back do you remember?

yikes. I never thought of it like that! Just one more reason to worry about scarring my kids for life.
I used to say my earliest memories were when I was in preschool around age 3.. I know I was 3 and in preschool when my aunt took me to get my ears pierced.
BUT.. more recently, i realized i can remember laying in a crib and my dad standing over me and talking to me.. I can remember exactly how my crib was positioned in my bedroom... So I presumably was well under 3 at that point, unless my parents kept me in a crib for a LOOONG time.

I have a bad memory, so it is hard to tell. I don't really know what is my memory of things and what is from looking at old pictures and home video. I do distinctly remember jumping from couch to couch to chair at my cousins house while their tiny dog snapped at our feet from below. It was a mix of fun and terror. I was around 4 or so then, and I know that is a real memory bc obviously there is no video or pics of it. They ended up giving that dog to a guy on a farm, and only had him for about a week, but he was real nippy and scary to their kids too.
I remember the toy I picked out for my sister. I was 2.5 when she was born....but the toy was probably around for years after that, so I'm not sure at what age I am remembering back.
I remember my umbillical hernia surgery. I was just under 4 for that. I don't remember the surgery itself, but I distinctly remember the nurses taking me to a closet of toys and getting to pick something out.
I had surgery for kidney reflux at 2.5-3 and I remember going down for surgery and the dr telling me something about soap. Other than that, I think I start mixing together things we have videos of, since that is right about the time my parents got the camcorder and my sister was born. I definitely remember pre-k stuff
