If (hopefully) my babies are born between 36 and 38 weeks, what size clothes should I bring for them at the hospital? I love the stuff from Baby Gap, but I'm not sure if it will be too big for them or not. Any suggestions?

Re: Going home outfits
Cut the Crap - Weight loss journey of a Few Fat Chicks
my boys were born at 38w1d... one was 6lb 6oz, and one was 7lb 15.6oz (just shy of 8lbs) and I had some preemie outfits purchased "just in case" they were early.... so I used those that first week - and they fit perfectly. NB stuff is still usually pretty big even on a full term baby - not that it's a problem... but since I had a few preemie outfits I figured I'd use them.

I had small 36 weekers (4.15 and 5.02). They were too long for preemie, so we went with nb. They were big, but since they were snuggled up in blankets, etc it worked fine.

My girls were born at 35w and spent 2 weeks in the NICU before coming home. They were roughly 5 and 6lbs respectively when they came home, and wore preemie outfits for the first couple of weeks. I got most of them either at a MoM garage sale or the consignment store. They grow out of them so fast, no real reason to pay full price.
Confession: the day my girls were discharged, it was a raging blizzard outside. So we ditched their 'going home' outfits in favor of fleece sleepers, a blanket, and carseat cover. Not fashionable, but they were warm.
