I am really struggling with this. I have a giant mug that I keep beside me all day and night, and I've been going through about 3 a day. I've never been good at drinking enough, as having a stomach full of liquid makes me nauseous. I can down juice much more easily for some reason, but worry about all the sugar from drinking a bottle of juice a day.
My recent symptoms of this are some really unattractive chapped lips...really, like my whole mouth...and I'm sick of them stinging all day. Maybe I'll try to have soup for a meal a day. Been hitting the spicy food to force thirst. Other suggestions for tricking yourself into drinking a lot?
Re: Hydration
I HATE water. I seriously drink what adds up to an entire bottle of water every 6 months. Now that I'm pregnant, I'm definitely feeling the dehydration though. I'm trying to mix crystal light into my water to help me choke down at least 1 glass a day. Other than that, I'm drinking a lot of juice, lemonade, milk, and caffeine free pop (mmm, Vernors).
Be careful with what soups you choose, most are obscenely high in salt. Salt will help you retain fluids but too much salt is all kinds of bad.
Duh. I totally hadn't thought of that. I don't know what it is about water; the first glass or so is fine, but then it just starts to taste revolting and I can't do it anymore. I'm concerned that I'm not even hitting the half-gallon suggestion that I read somewhere.
But at least my body is making me ugly so that I can't ignore the issue.
This. I only eat the Healthy Choice "reduced sodium" kind. If its not tasty enough, just add some faux salt seasoning!
That's the kind of thing that I'm terrified of causing. Thank you for sharing. Checking out this pitcher idea...
Thanks! I just ordered this online!!
Have you tried watering down your juice? Mixing it 50/50 with water? Then you aren't getting as much sugar!

I would suggest Propel or Gatorade - g2 has less calories than the regular stuff. Also, eating fruits with high water content like melon or citrus fruit can help.
Thanks so much for posting this. I just ordered a similar pitcher and I can't wait for it to get here!
