What should I get my hubby!?!

Lol so my husband is in Afghanistan and next month is his birthday, our anniversary and christmas. And I am running out of ideas of things to get him. He just ordered a watch, boots, gloves, heated blanket, lots of books, and I know there's more I can't think of. I just got a Christmas tree, ornaments, a star, a stocking full of stuff, and two other boxes of snacks, boxers, socks all that stuff. I ordered new pictures and am making cookies to send. But what should I do for anniversary and his birthday? Lol any ideas would be awesome!  (oh and he is a total out doors guy. Camping fishing, shooting, archery I just bought him a bow that was his early Christmas gift but I still want to send him Something!)

Thanks for taking your time and for any ideas!

  • I'm not sure what your husband does/has access too. But I spoke to a friend yesterday whose husband is in Afghanistan and she sent him a hot plate so he could make better food? Just an idea. I know it won't work if he doesn't have access to electricity obviously!

  • My brother and DH both LOVE the hickory farms cheese and sausage baskets.  I make sure they both get several when they are deployed.  In fact, my brother always saves them for his Christmas dinner lol.  DH tells me the guys who dont get them are always jealous of him lol.

  • What about some way to record a message to him? So he can hear your voice no matter where he is. Or a caldender made of pics of the both of you. Hope you figure out something great for him.

  • my husband was in the sand box for his last birthday as well, i found this cute funny card that said "WARNING Do Not Lose This Card" on the outside and "BECAUSE THIS IS YOUR PRESENT" on the inside, it was something small but it made him smile and he really appreciated it, he was also in the sand box for our 1 year anniversary, i sent him a funny card, again lol, which he enjoyed and some pictures of the family and stuff. he really appreciated it and he was happy.

I agree with this, I'd get something small and sweet. Because depending on where he's at...he might not have enough space for something big.  Does he play alot of video games?  I know the guys here play games a lot.  And they are all anxiously waiting for their MW3 to come in the mail.  But of course its not here yet lol. My husband sent me a necklace from thevintagepearl.com and it was really nice.  and he also sent me this book from the oatmeal called "5 good reasons to punch a dolphin in the mouth" and its hilarious! so think small and sweet.

If you knew better, you'd do better.
  • Thanks everyone! I got a blanket and a card that my son and I wrote in and 4 other boxes worth or random food, Christmas tree, stocking all that :) lol everyone at the post office couldn't belive I had so many boxes lol
