My daughter's best friend lives an hour and a half away, so they don't get to see each other very often. Today she and her mom came down to visit, though, and we went for a walk where both of the girls collected a bunch of acorns. She forgot them here, and it seems silly to hang on to a ziploc baggie of acorns for a month or 2, or to mail them, but I know her she and her mother would like to have them (the girls like holding onto things from when they get together), so I am looking for a craft of some sort to make them in to and then I will mail that.
I think there are 2 or 3 with caps, and the rest are without.
TIA!
Re: Know of any cute/easy acorn crafts?
I create fairy dens from foam, moss, silk plants, and assorted other decor.
Because of their shape, its hard to make acorns stay glued like you can macaroni noodles on paper plates. But if you pick up say... some foam, such as is used for artifical flower baskets... You could paint the base, or use some pretty moss sheets. And press/glue the acorns into the foam in patterns and shapes. Smiley faces, hearts... that sort of thing.
Elmers glue should work fine, and is safer for kids than hot glue guns. You can pick up the foam in blocks, spheres, or rounds at places like Joannes and michaels craft stores.
oo that sounds great, thank you!
Yup, elmers glue would be fine.
