  I love my MIL I really do but she assumes I'm brainless just because her daughter is. Well, I'm not. So I get really frustrated with her because she tries to give me advice but its usually something I want to say "no sh!t" to because its so blatantly obvious. I just have to remember what she dealt with before with my SIL when she had a baby and smile and nod. I hope once I have the baby she'll see I'm totally capable of taking care of him and lay off a little.

  My SOs mom drives me nuts too. I hate her "little comments". She thinks shes being funny but I just want to punch her in the face for being so damn annoying.

  It's funny because DH and I have been together 10 years in December and my MIL just in the last year has really started to irritate me. She also makes "little comments" and jabs every once in a while. While it's still fairly new that this is happening I'm caught off guard and wondering why she's starting now to act like this!

  Good luck. I used to really love my MIL, but she has always been ultra sensitive, and I think she is not all there. She is getting worse these last few months. She went off on me 2 nights ago, telling me she will not be 'corrected' any more (I gave her a feeding schedule for DS that I gave to all the other grandmas too. Though MIL insists on feeding DS chips and candy all morning so he does not want to eat lunch or healthy stuff too). That she was corrected during her marriage to her exhusband for 31 years, but she will not be anymore. Fine, but if she is watching mine and DH's kids she needs to respect how we want to raise them. I will nicely do it, but she will cry no matter how sweetly or softly you ask her do or change something. She is also spoiling DS rotten. Seriously. My sweet loving baby boy is turning into a little brat to anyone who watches him and does not bring him gifts every time like MIL. When I ask for her help to change his behavior, she crys and turns it into me being mean to her and how I'm taking away her 'joy'. I will SO not be like this to my daughter in law. My mom, grandma and mom's MIL also watch DS and all have said that they will respect how we want to raise our kids since we are the parents. Why can't MIL do that too??
