Lost it at hospice tonight

My grandpa went to a hospice house on Thursday. We found out earlier in the week he has Stage IV lung cancer.

It is likely he will die tonight. He has been trying to talk all night with little success of us understanding. A nurse came into administer meds and told us she thought she heard him say Mom, Grandma, and something ending in a Y. My youngest aunt burst into tears, and said she thought he was talking about her son Jamie that she lost at 20 or so weeks due to an incompetent cervix. I was about 10 when it happened and its the first time I can remember seeing her upset about it. She's such a positive person (and the only one who said the right things to me when I had my miscarriage).

So, she burst into tears and then I lost it. A bit later, I left the room to pump and lo and behold I forgot part of the pump at home. So, had to come home to pump. And the hospital is across town. Not sure if I will make it back tonight. I'm beat. Physically and emotionally.

What I didn't mention in the above post, is that the nurse mentioned having a foot in two worlds. That perhaps you are greeted by family that went before you. So maybe, he's reunited with the little guy. Such a nice thought.

when I read your op, that was my first thought as well. It sounded like he was being greeted by those who crossed before. I wish peace and healing for you and your family.
