OBGyn Recs in the Med Center

We just found out we were pregnant about a week ago, and I am wanting to switch to an Ob Gyn who is closer to my work (in the med center).  Do any of you have any recommendations?  I'm usually most comfortable with women, but would be willing to try a male MD if highly recommended...thanks!!

    I go to Dr. Susan Shi with Partners in Obgyn. They're affiliated with Texas Children's. Their practice is in the Scurlock tower on Fannin across from Methodist Hospital. Dr. Shi has privileges at both Methodist and St. Luke's. I really like her bedside manner, she's soft spoken and really patient with this FTM. Her nursing staff and the practice staff also rocks - all very personable and remember me by name. Oh, and Partners in Obgyn was referred to me by my general physician when we found out we were 5 weeks pregnant, so maybe ask your family doctor for some referrals? HTH!

    Complete women's center Located on Fannin street are great. I recommend Dr. Smith she is really nice. I just moved here and after goggling some new drs she came up and so far i like her.

    Dr. Ivonne Smith in the OGA building on Fannin. It's next door to Texas Women's, which is where she delivers.

    I saw Dr Bobo at Women's Specialists. She's super nice and we liked her a lot. 

     

    I delivered at St Luke's, but I know they're going to be affiliated with the new maternity hospital at Texas Children's.

    I see another one of the doctors in Dr. Shi's group (Manning), but I don't know that she's taking new patients. I do like the practice and the nurses. I like that I always see my doctor and not just a nurse. Their practice is also now part of Texas Children's so when the new women's pavilion opens they will be delivering there and will eventually move to that building. (I'm going to deliver at Methodist again though because I liked it the first time)

    I second Dr. Bobo!  She's a great doctor, very sweet and has awesome bedside manner.  When I went thru PP with my daughter, she showed lots of concern and was a great comfort to me during that time.  My husband loved her, too.  When I was being wheeled in for my CSection she gave him a hug and told him not to worry because she was going to take care of both of his girls!  :)

     Now that I'm pregnant again, there was never a doubt in mine or my husband's mind of who's delivering...Dr. Kimberly Bobo and the entire Women's Specialist of Houston practice is great!!

    Dr. Rachel Thompson at Houston Women Care Associates. SHe is wonderful. She is that Fannin 1 building!
