...and I'm supposed to go back to work this week! Luckily I'm only working one day a week for four hours, but I'm sure she'll want to eat something during that time, so I'm stressed out. Not to mention, we'd love to go on a date night! We have only managed to get her to drink from a bottle when she is absolutely starving and having a meltdown, and a pacifier she won't take at all, she looks at us like we're crazy if we give her one. I've tried Tommee Tippee, Medela, Dr. Browns, no luck. Tried DH giving it to her, me being far away, me being near, me being out of the house, me giving it to her...still nothing. She just chews on the nipple for a while then spits it out.
Anyone have this issue? Any other suggestions?
Re: Won't take pacifier OR bottle...
She refuses to take the pacifier and we have only tried a bottle a few times.. once she did it perfectly, once she choked/spit it out- just wasn't having it at all. and once she did ok.. coughed on it once but still was able to drink it all.
My only suggestion (for if you still cannot get her to take it) is to try other feeding methods.. such as with a syringe, or something like that.... it will take much longer. but she will get fed while you aren't there
"What did my fingers do before they held you? What did my heart do with it's love?"
We have the same problem. I once got dd to take a Nuk bottle, but we have not had repeated success with it. I think we might try breast flow next.
Good luck!
