Who is/was your OBGYN?

I have BCBS and I saw Dr. Sasan Askari last year for my check-up. Has anyone used him as an OB? Do you have an OB or midwife that you loved? I am now 4 weeks and 2  days pregnant and looking for someone to make it through my pregnancy with me.

Thanks!

Re: Who is/was your OBGYN?

  • I use OBGYN North. They have both OB drs and midwifes. I love all of them but 1. They deliver at St David's North. I have been extremely happy with them and really looking forward to delivering in the next few weeks. They are natural birth friendly, but not pushy about it if your not. They have the options available, but it's not like you don't still have the options for pain meds.

  • I used a doctor with Renaissance Womens Group who moved to Dallas. I'll probably pick another doctor with that group. I really enjoyed them and liked all the staff I dealt with.

I delivered at NAMC and loved it. The doctors were great and so were 99% of my nurses. My only complaint was that my 2nd nurse for delivery (I had three) said I had to keep the room cold when I was already freezing...not much to complain about other than that.

  • I used to see Dr Collins at Renaissance Womens Group. 3rd from the right in the photo :) She was wonderful and I miss her and her staff :)

This is who I currently see.  Love her.  Her NP Jennifer is the bombshizzle.

  • I use Dr. Mills at Renaissance.  I like her because I don't feel that she rushes through her appointments (although I feel one of the np in that practice does) and she seems to really listen to my concerns.  I haven't really had any problems making appointments with her and not with a np/pac.  With pregnancy appointments, though, I did see a np every other visit until later in the pregnancy when I saw Dr. Mills at every appt.  They don't usually make me wait too long at appts, but I do remember twice I have had to wait longer than 30 minutes.  I assume it was some sort of emergency that put them behind.
  • I see Dr. Nash at Women Partners in Health.  They have been great, so far.  I love all the educational classes they offer.  We are taking the second part of our preparation for child birth class today.  I highly recommend WPIH.  I think any of the OBGYNs are good there.

  • I see Dr. Reich at W PIH.  Agree with above about how awesome the whole practice is.  Also love the central location.  We just had a very difficult stillbirth and she was beyond amazing.  Came in to deliver me on her day off just so she could meet my daughter and her quick thinking and action helped me avoid a D&C to deliver my crappy placenta.

I saw Dr. Weihs at WPIH and loved her.  She is really chill and always took time to answer my questions.  Unfortunately, we moved before I delivered so I can't tell you how she is in the delivery room!

  • I use Dr. Ikbal at WPIH. So far, so good. And I love her nurse! But obviously we're still in the process, so I can't speak as to the delivery, etc. I've been using the practice in general for years and really enjoy it (except for the one sourpuss at the front desk who is always rude, I just try to avoid her and deal with anyone else).
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • I see Dr. Carter at UT Physicians.  Sometimes the wait is long, but I love her and she is very evidence-based which I like.  I delivered at Seton because they employee me, but I think that she prefers St. David's.
