When I had my first baby, I got a little 'goody bag' from the hospital.  I was so psyched because I thought there would be something like a candy bar or trail mix.  I forget what else was in there (although there was a disposable camera) - but there was a bag of dried lentils!

I do appreciate the thought of trying to encourage good nutrition at home, but I was so bummed because I just wanted something tasty!  Could have been a nutritious snack.. I still think it was a strange goody bag item, and going home and standing over the stove was not something I was looking forward to, although like i said, I appreciate the gesture.

Anyone else get a goody bag from the hospital?

    No goody bag other than the standard baby-related stuff.  But yeah - a bag of lentils is odd!

    Nope, no goody bag which makes more sense than giving out lentils.  LOL.

    I got a bag of Evelyn&Crabtree stuff from the hospital both times. I have hardly used it. Actually with natalie, I got two sets.. because I got one in my first room, and then I got moved to the big fancy suite and they give you a set that comes with two coffee mugs in there!! I love drinking out of my hospital mugs, they're actually pretty nice.

    I was sent home with baby and breastfeednig stuff - some newborn diapers from pampers, Lansinoh breast milk storage bags, lanolin, I think a few big pads, a squeeze bottle, and sitz bath.
