What do you call him/her?

DH and I have jokingly been calling the baby Brutus after the OSU mascot (his favorite team).  Any special/funny names out there?

  • We started calling the baby "Pumpkin" because we found out we were pregnant in fall.  But then my sister-in-law has coined "newbie" and it stuck because DH is so involved in gaming. lol.

  • We have been calling him /her Baby H since our last name starts with the letter H.

  • My sister and I have been referring to the baby as "the banana" on gchat while we're at work in case anyone walks by my desk and sees her response to me or something. I only suggested banana because I was eating one at the time, lol.

  • Mostly we just say "the baby," but sometimes I'll call him/her by whatever name I'm playing with that day.  So far our baby has been Hoss, Elizabeth, Hannah, Quincy, and Fergus (that one was DH's pick, NOT mine!).

  • We sometimes say the baby but most often we refer to the baby as ABAK.  DW created this name from the initials we have picked out for the baby's first and middle name. A.B. is our girl name and A.K. for a boy.

  • We call ours "Stormaggeddon" or "Stormy" after the baby in Doctor Who (we're complete nerds). It works, though, since we decided not to tell anyone but a VERY select few until second tri: it allows us both to post "stormy weather" updates on Facebook!

  • I've been calling it different things depending on the size. This week it's our "apple seed" and "sea horse" (since I think the embryo looks like a sea horse at this stage).

  • Ours is "Lovey"  :o)

  • Ours is a potato.  It has been even before conception.  I don't know where it came from but one day DH just started, "It's a potato!"  Before we knew it that was code for we're pregnant and it is potato.  I figure whether your cooking the potato or planting one in the ground it takes time for it to be done.
