I discovered an unexpected benefit of my birth center at my appt. yesterday. I had to wait awhile for my blood draw because another expectant mother was having a timed blood draw. I made the comment "oh, the orange drink" and was informed that at the birth center they don't do the orange drink. You get to eat a very specific qty. of real foods that include apple juice, banana, and honey. You also don't have to be baby sat in a crappy lab waiting room, they trust you to show up at the right time. Trust...what a novel idea.
I didn't mind the orange drink too much last time but since I had tried to avoid soda and stuff with a lot of food coloring I thought it was a little wierd.
Re: Nice..no orange glucose drink for me this time
Aww, thank you! It is so hard to get her to smile at the camera without making a stinky face these days. :-)
That's great! I had the glucose drink about my birth center, but I was trusted to show up on time. Fair enough compromise.
Also, I love your new siggy pic!

Yay! My birth center let me pick between real food and the drink, too. I went for the food.
You're so right about the trust thing, too.
I almost threw up when I drank the drink last time. Everything is making me sick this time, so I might convince them to just let me do something else instead.
It's not like I eat sugar as it is so I'm not worried about it anyway.
