  I have a Lily, I know IRL 3 other Lily's (1 younger and 2 older than mine,) and 1 Lillian (2 years older than mine). We are never at a park without hearing of atleast one Lily being called by her parents. It's very popular. I was not a member here when we were naming the triplets, I did not look up how popular names were....I may have picked something else. I do love the name though and it fits my daughter.

  I'm in the south and don't know any Lilys or Lillians IRL.
  It doesn't seem to be a popular name --at least the area I am in.
  

  Lillian has always been one of my all time favorite names.

  I'm in Mississippi. I personally know 3 little girls name Lily (one is a Lillian, nn Lily). All three are between 5-7 years old. I met a baby named Lily in Lowe's last week, and I feel like I'm hearing this name all of the time. I still love it though, especially if it's a nickname for Lillian.

  The SSA name list is the most objective data about the popularity of a name.  It doesn't really matter how many you know - the list is telling you how many there are.  You can look up state data for names on there too.

  My step-grandmother is Lillian...she is in her 90s. 

  I dont know any other Lillians, but I do know 2 Lillianas (One is in her 30s and one is 5), 2 Lilys (both early elementary school age), and 2 Lillies (both are in their 30s)

  We considered Lily (love the name), but dropped it because of its popularity. That was just going by the SSA list-- I never interacted with a lot of babies/ little kids so I didn't directly experience how common the name is.  Now that our baby girl is here, I've realized how truly popular it is-- every time I meet another mom with a baby (on the street, in the elevator, in mom's groups, etc.), it's another Lily. I don't know what percentage of them are actually Lillian, but if you're planning on using Lily as a NN it probably doesn't matter what her full name is. The only name I've encountered more of is Sophia. That said, it's a lovely name, so if the popularity doesn't bother you, then go for it.

  DD has a Lilla and a Lilly at her preschool - and there are only nine students.  Plus I just met a baby Lily today.  We live in upstate NY.  I also have a friend in the Seattle area with a Liliana.  I don't know any Lillians.

  Agree. Don't pick the name. Its beautiful, but waaaaaaaaay too popular. I am a teacher and know a freaking TON. Please, please, please, don't name your baby Lily! There are lots of other classic names that won't make your daughter feel like a dime a dozen.

  I know zero Lillians. I think there is a Lily at the daycare I take DS1 to occasionally, so she'd be 4ish.

  I'm in Portland like TripMomma; nature names are very popular here because a lot of us are hippies.

  Outside of DC-- seven.

  6 or those are under the age of 5 and are a mix of Lillians and Lilly's. Only one is in my 3 yr olds class other are friend's kids.
  

  The other one is a relative and over 80 years old. 

  Pretty name but would never use it since it is popular on the SSA list and also 3 of the Lily's I know are spoiled annoying brats.

  OP, I know a handful of toddler Lilys but no Lillians.
