I know we have talked about this before...
But I started thinking about it tonight when Whitney went to bed with just pants and a sweatshirt on, no footie pj's like normal. I wanted to give her a blanket to cover her feet.
She sleeps with NOTHING in her crib right now, just the sheet on the matress.
Am I being overly cautious? What do you do?
Logically my LO could pull a blanket off of her if she wanted, I suppose.I just dont think I am ready for that.
Re: Whats in LO's crib?
haha
a pillow to sleep on(she will not sleep without a pillow!)
a blankie to cover her(she LOVES her blankie)
a sheet
toys(for when she wakes up & wants to play but not get up)
sheep that plays music
I know some people are overly cautious, but I'm not really worried.
We have everything your not supposed to!
Blanket, small pillow, two stuffed animals (she likes to snuggle), two lovies, and a musical seahorse animal.
Just Em and her blanket. Our upstairs is insulated horrible and the kids rooms are on the north side so it gets chilly at night. She likes to snuggle into her blanket at bedtime but by morning it's on the opposite end of the crib. I tucked a minky/fleece blanket tight around her mattress so it's warmer than just her sheet too.
Sheet, blanket that came with bedding set (over sheet and tucked in to sides), bumpers, gentle giraffe noise machine, wind up giraffe music thing, two loveys, and two pacis.
She doesn't put anything on her face. She actually enjoys making a pile of everything and laying on it, lol.
Thats sooo cute guys!
For those that are afraid of a blanket - those fleece sleep sacks are wonderful!!
JT has those A&A blankets, if it's cold another heavier blanket, and that's it. I took the mesh bumpers off recently cause he kept untying them and undoing the velcro when he should be sleeping!
I keep wanting to put a few toys for when he wakes up but I fear he's just play when he should sleep and he'd end up throwing them overboard anyway so guess I'll leave it be.
Ffejsgirl - I like the idea of putting a heavier blanket over the sheet and tucking it in!
We use a sleep sack too and I've been wondering when you can safely add a blanket and/or pillow. I think it would help make the crib cozier and perhaps encourage her to lay down in her crib.
She also has Bugs Bunny, Snoopy, and lovey (she doesn't care about the lovey at all). One day I caught her offering Bugs her paci. It was just too cute.
He's always in pjs, but I do have this in his crib now:
-small, lightweight blanket (he snuggles it and it always ends up in the corner of the crib)
-small, stuffed bunny
-two cloth, soft-sided blocks
I need the couple of small toys in the crib. LO gets up before we do and plays with them. I no longer have a bumper and took it out the first night he pulled himself up. I'm not upgrading his blanket until he's a little bit older.
Never had issues with him in regards to suffocation or finding the toys I leave for him too distracting. He never had toys in his crib until he reached 7 months.
