Any advice??? Not sure what I've just signed myself up for! I spent a little time with her on Halloween and she seemed to "go with the flow" (all my interactions with her were while I was wearing a werewolf costume), so I'm hoping that stays the same for the 12 hours I have her. I keep thinking there's some sort of pattern or schedule I'm supposed to follow, but I haven't had any chance to look any of my baby books yet... So, if you start seeing me ask a lot of baby questions tomorrow, now you'll know why!
Re: I'm babysitting an 8 week old ALL DAY tomorrow!
Ask her parent/care giver for her schedule.
At 8 weeks Ellie was very 'go with the flow' and just needed to eat every 2-3 hours, and slept for pretty longish stretches. going for a walk can help you break up the day. spending some time on the floor talking and babbling is a good suggestion.
and how fun! hope you have a great day!

LOL, how do I have no memory of this (I remember the Ikea GTG, just not the lamp incident)?
Ditto this. I'd be all about a cuddle nap. Just smelling baby and warmth and bundle of still-balled-up baby. Yum!
omg, this has haunted me for the past year. You asked if I could hold M2 while you fed M1, and then I stood M2 up in the table and didn't notice, until you checked to see if it was hot (which it wasn't, thank God), that M2's head was touching the hanging lamp. I'm glad to know it didn't stick with you...
Oh no - you can't let this haunt you! He didn't get hurt and you don't want to know how many times I have accidentally bumped my kids into things, though never nearly as hard as they bump themselves or eachother. Thankfully they're very sturdy :-)
