Since it's finally cold and DS is wearing a coat pretty much every morning I'm curious about the propper way to wear a coat and be in the car seat. I feel like him having his coat on doesn't allow for the seat belt to get as tight as it normally does.
Do you put the coat on then put them in their seat? Leave the coat off?
Re: What do you do about carseats and coats?
This. I also bought a pretty thick fleece hoodie from Gap for V for when it gets really cold.
Blanket over them once in the carseat or on really cold mornings, a thin fleece. I cinch them down uber tight on a regular basis anyway so the extra tightness of the fleece is no surprise to them. I tried to get them in their carseats safely with a "puffy" coat and it was impossible.
Good post and reminder to all mommies!
We do the same.
YES!! It's always a good idea to dress light so the whole car can be warm. DH doesn't understand that just because we're sweating doesn't mean the girls are warm! Same goes for AC in the summer... uhg.
