Pls Rec a first "O" cereal (or similar) for wheat intolerance

DC has a strong wheat intolerance and is  moving toward first cereals and solids, etc. I am having trouble finding a gluten-free cereal that is cheerios-like or something similar.  There was a puffed rice cereal but I have no idea of that would work for a first food (thoughts on that???) So, I thought I would see what you ladies are using or if there is something I could order. We have transitioned into purees with no trouble but I am really worried about his direct ingestion of wheat.

    There are a few safe varieties of "O" cereals in the gluten free section (sorry, I can't think of the brands!).  Also, the shape isn't overly important.  My kids' first cereal was Kix, which even though not labeled gluten free, worked fine (and they were ultra-sensitive).  Another easy one for a baby to pick up would be gluten free Chex, which you can also find anywhere.

    Whole O's...natures path or natures valley something like that makes them. They would be good. I would think chef might be too hard/sharp

    You could also do gluten free rice krispies (make sure you get the GF box and not the regular one).

    Glutino makes a very good apple cinemon O cereal.
