a girl I went to HS with is naming her boy Waylon. I hate it. WDYT?

    I like it, don't love it. It reminds me of Waylon Jennings and has a southern feel if you ask me.

    I have a redneck uncle named Waylon. He comes to the family reunions and sings karaoke by himself.. It's embarrassing

    I have to admit...this is one of my guilty pleasure names. But I live in a pretty rural area. And my DH and I are die hard country music fans, we especially like the old stuff (like Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr and Jr). But I can totally understand that it isn't some people's cup of tea...

    NMS but I have no problem with it.  At least she isn't naming him Byntlee or some other trendy you-neekly spelled name.

    I love it! I live in Texas, love Waylon Jennings and would absolutely consider the name if I wasn't Spanish... NO ONE in my family would be able to pronounce it! My husband loves old country (weird, since he's from Connecticut) and he would love that name. 

    I actually know 2 baby Waylon's and it fits them well. It's on the same page as Wyatt in my opinion.

    UGH. my little sister is naming her daughter waylyn alice (after her uncle wayne). sad thing is i sent her every single post of every single terrible name out there and she can't believe them...yet she's doing that.

    Wow...I'm sorry but that's just awful. Hopefully you can make up a cute nn for her!

    This name has a special place in my heart. If I had been a boy I would have been named Waylon Lance or Lance Waylon.

    I like it but would never use it myself. I'm also fond of "country" sounding names...Wyatt, Brooks etc.

    I knew a few Waylons when I was growing up and they were CUTE so I've always had a good association with the name.
