How's everybody doing today? Any new updates? Any new BFPs?

I've been feeling a lot of pressure to go into labor by 41 weeks and it was really stressing me out (Nov 18th seems way to soon!).... so I'm thrilled with how my appointment went today! Dr. assured me that 41 weeks wasn't a hard deadline for her, and that with additional monitoring she was happy to go to 42 weeks. I kept being afraid of a "bait and switch", so I'm pretty happy with her reassurance at this point.

Also, my least favorite doctor isn't on the call schedule at all this week, so going into labor soon would be REALLY ideal

So, with those pick-me-ups, plus learning at my appointment last week that I was 1cm (didn't get checked this week), I'm feeling pretty good. I'm back to believing that my body can do this rather than feeling so stressed out by all the limitations the doc and hospitals were (potentially) going to put on me.

My MW and I talked a little more about my VBAC and what I can expect in L & D on Friday. She told me that while the hospital does require continuous monitoring, I can do telemetry monitoring. So that's good. She said I should be free to walk around, get in the shower, use the jacuzzi. All good things. She's also comfortable with letting me go to 42 weeks as long as baby looks good. She has been so positive about the whole VBAC attempt. I'm starting to feel like it really could happen.

I have a "new" BFP. I've been lurking on this board for quite some time and now it's my turn. I had a c-section 2 years ago with DS due to FTP. After 17 hours of labor, I could not progress beyond 7 cm. DS's heart rate was slow to recover from contractions so in I went for a c-section. I have a new doctor now due to location. My new doc is allowing me to go to 41 weeks before RCS. She will not induce but is willing to augment labor is I have some progress on my own. I'm hoping for the best!

I also just got my BFP. I will be meeting with my midwife in a few weeks and will be discussing VBAC. I'm just hoping the hospital hasn't changed their policy in the last year because I don't have the option to go anywhere else. My first child was born vaginally, but my second was born by c-section due to Failure to Descend. At my follow-up I was told I could VBAC with me next child, so I've had my heart set on it since then.

I'm looking forward to my 16 week appt. on Weds. I've been dealing with a nasty sinus infection and DD has a virus so I'm totally wiped out. If it wasn't for that I think I'd be feeling pretty well. Once I'm over this I'm signing up for pre-natal yoga.

Had a great appointment with my OB yesterday. He not only supported but encouraged my decision to VBAC and said he thought I had a 60-80% chance of success assuming I go into labor on my own. He also said we wouldn't even bother discussing Plan B until at least 41 weeks and that if all was well, he didn't see a problem with going to 42 weeks. I've been very worried about being put on a deadline so that was a big relief to me.

Everything is going well, we are having a boy! I have my next appointment next week with the OB who delivered DS, so far I have seen 2 out of the four docs. All have been encouraging. I work in maternity where I deliver so this helps ease my mind by seeing both sides and talking with patients who just had a VBAC.

I have my next appointment on Thursday and I can't wait to start talking about VBACs with my doctor, who seemed really supportive the last time we talked about it.

I'm new to the board. I just started to consider a VBAC last week. I haven't spoken to my doctor yet (appt. is next week) but I know that the hospital I am delvering at allows VBACs. I am attending a VBAC info. session through my local ICan chapter this weekend. I can't wait to get more information and meet some doulas that have lots of experience with them.

A little background info.: I had a C-section with my first after failure to descend. She was posterior, I was fully dialated and effaced but stuck at -1 for around 6 hours. Pushed for 3 and nothing. I also fell down the steps the day before which resulted in my water breaking probably before she was ready to be born (may be another reason she didn't descend?).

Anyway, I've been loving catching up on all of the posts, especially the VBAC stories (successful or not).

well it's not monday anymore but i'll still check in! next OB appt isn't until week of thanksgiving, but i did start bradley classes over the weekend. i am not sure how much i am going to learn through them (not to be a smarty-pants, i just feel like i have heard it all before- at least from the first class) but i'm sticking it out! i guess that's somewhat to be expected for STM? DH has been pretty apprehensive about the classes though, and he told me he learned some stuff, so that's a positive!

otherwise, just getting bigger for now.

I just started cycle 2 of ttc. Almost time for ovulation, so...hopefully DD wants to go to bed on time next week, lol.

And I was discussing a birth center with a pregnant friend this evening at dinner, and I may be looking into that direction, she was been trying to talk me into since she got KU. I am nervous though, I dilated so much before I went into labor, and the birth center is almost 2 hours away, with good traffic, so I am not sure how comfortable I am with the idea. I guess I have some thinking to do.

That is all wonderful news!!! GL to you this week! I went into labor after having my membranes swept during my 41 week appt, so I'll be hoping your labor gets started soon Smile

No new updates here, still in the TTC #3 process. But I am thoroughly enjoying the work involved Wink
