I had a growth scan this morning and the baby is head down, weighing 5.3 lbs!
I'm only 32 weeks.I know, that this is only a computerized measurement and can be off, but 5.3lbs seems a lot.I do not have GD and neither me or DH was a big baby.
I'm meeting my doctor in 2 hrs, because I've been having some strange pressure and tightness (maybe it's BH, I'm not sure, FTM here).
Should I be worried?Oh, and LO decided to cover her face with both hands and the tech was not able to do 3D pics.I'm so bummed.
Re: Baby's weight on ultrasound-worried
May Siggy Challenge: TV mom
This is why most doctors don't do growth ultrasounds. They really aren't accurate and just freak out the mom.
Don't focus on the number. It means nothing at this point. They would let you know if there was a true growth issues. That does not seem that big to me.
My DS #2 was born @ 33wk & 4days & he was 5lb & 12oz.
Don't be worried Im sure baby is fine...maybe this will be ur chubby baby :-) OR you may be surprised to see that baby may only weigh 6 or 7 pounds at birth.
At 31 weeks mine was 4lbs 6oz, and as of yesterday was 8lbs 1oz. I'm being induced on Wednesday so I'd say that's a perfectly healthy little boy!
They always say give or take a pound with the growth ultrasounds anyway so don't be worried. And if he/she is big, then you will have a chubby, adorable baby.
My Ovulation Chart
My LO was measuring 7lbs at 33 weeks...I'm having a scheduled CS on December 9 if I don't go into labor before then. I also have polyhydramnios and he isn't head-down so there are other risk factors. They are anticipating a 10lb baby.
We'll just have to wait and see.
i'm 34 weeks today and last weeks U/S he was measuring 5.5lbs.. my first son was born 9lbs and 14oz.. so i'm expecting him to also be a big baby. Nothing wrong with having a big baby.. just avoid buying too many infant outfits
If the doctors aren't concerned, i wouldn't be either. I would also just watch what you eat.. i started going on a diet last week which means avoiding half of the junk i've been eating.. so not completely depriving myself, just being a bit more careful.
After being told I was measuring big and freaking out a little and some research I found that the average weight of a healthy baby now a days is actually a little over 8 pounds. I dont have GD and I was 6lbs and DH was 5lbs, if our baby comes out 8lbs I and my OB consider that healthy. And about the 3D ultra sound, I tried twice and baby wouldnt uncover his/her face and was sleeping through my entire first session!!
Where baby is at for you is fine and normal!!! Also remember that your baby could be every tall as well so bigger (if it happens) may be better.
