J or I always make the green bean casserole for holiday functions because nobody else makes it the right way (I'm a green bean casserole snob). The green beans, the cream of mushroom soup, the copious amount on crunchy onions on top, to die for. If I had to choose only one thing to eat for the rest of my life, that would be it.
#1...My granny's succotash. It is this wonderfully cheesy lima bean and corn substance that I LOVE!!!! Unfortunately it is not weight loss surgery friendly but thanks to reduced fat cheeses and fat free half and half I am making my own version this year. Granny has passed down the secret recipe just so I could make a healthier version I could eat. It actually made me cry that I could not eat this last xmas it just was the missing piece.
#2...My mom's creamed chipped beef. Family breakfast xmas morning made in my southern great granny's cast iron skillet usually by my mother. This year however it has fallen to me as I have learned to make a healthier yet equally as tasty version.
This gastric bypass has been fantastic for my life but has increased my cooking duties a TON!!!
We had three BFN in the Fall of 2011. It is back on to some baby making come June. Swim little fellas, SWIM!!!!
Those halloween pumpkins that are like candy corn but a thousand times more delicious. they probably dont even count as food - pretty much dyed and packed sugar, but OMG yummm
Christmas cookies for me too. The sugar cookies I posted the recipe for. I also like to make jam thumbprints and my grandma used to make date pinwheels and I've started making them too. Yum!
I secretly love those sugar cookies at Target (or probably any grocery store) that are 100% processed and show up frosted in the colors of any season. You know the ones I mean...it must be spring if they're pink and yellow? Bring on the green and red frosting, folks:)

My grandfather's lasagna... He made it for EVERY holiday, so it's my every-holiday favorite. Unfortunately, no one makes it like he used to...
stuffing! Even when I was a vegetarian, I made an exception for gram's stuffing with giblets.
Bacon wrapped waterchestnuts are a good Christmas favorite, though. mmmmm.
