my belly has been itchy lately (because it's growing) and i had been putting gold bond lotion on it. then, the other day i remembered i have a jar of Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula that i haven't used in forever, so i used that for a few days. on monday i was at babies r us, and they had some little travel-sized items so i bought Palmer's "Tummy Butter" and Palmer's Body Oil (both of which have cocoa butter in them).
i used the oil a few times and it was very soothing. i used the tummy butter once. then, yesterday i used the oil right after i got out of the shower (the bottle actually says "for bath and shower") and then within a few hours my tummy was itching again, and i noticed i had a bunch of tiny red bumps all over my belly!
i did some googling and found this.
the thing is, i'm not sure which product caused it, or if was them all together?
i know i had used the cocoa butter a few times before on my arms/elbows/feet with no issue.
sorry this is so long!
has anybody else had this experience?
Re: itchy rash from cocoa butter?
I have been using The Body Shop's cocoa butter shower gel then cocoa butter body butter. I love both products and have had no adverse reactions.
Everyone is different though. Maybe mention this to your doctor and/or test out new products on your arm before you put it on your bump. It's crazy how our bodies react differently to everything when we have a little peanut in there!
Good luck to you!
