It's been a rough week. Between my dip in supply (it's a little better now-thanks for the tips!), milk blisters and Henry teething, it's been a nightmare. He is getting two new teeth and the biting has been out of control. Last night every time we went to nurse, he immediately bit. After he calms a bit, I try to put him back on, he cries. I just sat there and rocked him to comfort him. It's like he knows he is hurting me and doesn't want to. I can see it in his eyes-poor puppy. I have given him a bottle two night in a row and rocked him to sleep and he was much more content. I just can't be bit anymore, I'm in so much pain. I've read kellymom for tips and they have helped, but not enough to keep going. I have a great freezer stash and dont mind pumping to keep it going through until next spring (my goal was 15 months) , but it honestly broke my heart to not nurse him last night. I thought it would be easier. I miss my baby ;(

Re: I think my breastfeeding days are over ;(;(;(
After two losses, third time was a charm.

My twins pretty much self-weaned at 9 months...and it was mostly due to Braley biting. It became unenjoyable for all involved.
You have done great, no matter what you decide!

it is so hard! every time i thought BFing was over we ended up pushing through it, but i was always heartbroken when it seemed like it was over. it's so sad to lose that bonding experience.
kudos to you for BFing for so long, and for being committed to pumping for so long! you are an awesome mama.
((hugs)) You've done such a great job. I would have never made it through biting and milk blisters!
As much as I hated BF'ing, it was hard to let go as Vivi self-weaned (fortunately before any teeth came in). Just part of their growing up.

I'm sorry ((hugs))
I had a low supply from day one and really didn't enjoy nursing Jack at the time. I saw it as a chore, and knew I would not be able to pump and keep up my supply once I went back to work. But I had the hardest time weaning him. I thought formula was poison and missed that time with him. Looking back I wish I had taken the time to really enjoy it.
You did a great job nursing that little man. And it is great that you have a stash and will be able to continue on breast milk for so long. You should be proud of you and your boy.
