My 5 month old is cutting his first tooth and the school said he was not his happy self today. What can I give to soothe him. They suggested maybe I bring the natural baby oragel tomorrow so they can use it if he starts hurting. I really dont want to numb his mouth and affect his bottle feeds.
Tell me what I should do...........FTM and I have no idea
TIA
Re: Teething Help PLEASE
Keep some motrin/advil in the house and give it to him whenever he seems like he's uncomfortable. For Jack he loved sucking on washcloths.....probably not the best but it was his thing. If your LO is a paci baby then maybe keep one in the fridge so you can give him a cool one and it will sooth his gums.
Good luck!
Have you gotten a Sophie yet?

Kate is working on her 2 year molars and I just pulled Sophie back out. Still a hit.
I don't think you can do Advil until 6 months
You can tie a knot in a washcloth and freeze it for him to chew on, freeze fruit and put it in one of those mesh food thingies, and give Hyland's or Humphrey's. "They" say that Tylenol isn't very helpful, but when Advil's not an option I'd probably give it anyway.
We also have an amber necklace for DD (and I use one for tension headaches) and I think they definitely help. I got ours at inspiredbyfinn.com but I heard they sell them at Tiny Birds, too.
my pedi said not to use oragel, but everyone is different. she said the best "medicine" is tylenol or ibeprofen.
something non-medicinal you could do is chilly teethers, or put an ice cube in one of those mesh feeders. M loved that. You could also freeze a rolled up wet washcloth to let your little one chew on - that worked for us as well.

Thanks Ladies.........
So that is what Sofie the Giraffe is for.........I remember when I was pregnant and saw it for the first time.......I thought my dogs would love it more than the baby. Hopefully if I decide to bring one home, they wont try and claim it.......it would sure be an expensive doggy toy
I forgot about the amber teething necklace, I had heard of that one before.
Thanks for all of the tips/tricks.....much better than using the numbing stuff.
