post surgery update

We went yesterday to check Carter's eyes after the surgery last Thursday.  Two bits of good news.

1.  No more patching for the time being.  Hooray!  Although Carter never complained about having to wear the patch, I know he didn't like it.

2.  Getting rid of the bifocal glasses and moving to a single lens.  It's a very weak prescription, and the goal is to get him out of glasses completely.

The bad news:

With his glasses off, there is still a slight cross.  Dr. hopes it will resolve itself in the next 6-8 weeks, and it's too soon to tell if the surgery was a success or not.  But to hear that there is still crossing after just a few days post-op, I was a bit disappointed. 

I always knew there was a chance that he would have to have multiple surgeries, but had hoped that he would be OK with one.  So we head back in 8 weeks, and by that time the eye should have healed completely and we will know for sure.

    All in all, it does sound successful to me!  So glad things went well and I'll pray that the crossing is gone completely by your next appointment.  Kids are amazing.

    Sounds like he has definitely improved! I hope that the the crossing resolves on it's own soon!

    I really hope that he won't need any more surgeries! So glad he doesn't need the patch anymore!

    Yay for no more patching!  I hope that his eye improves over the next few days and there are no more surgeries in his future!
