We were thinking of telling on Thanksgiving but with twins the risk is higher. Our next ultrasound is the 2nd so maybe we'll go ahead and do it. What is everyone else doing? I figured if all is still ok on the 22nd why not?

Re: Are you telling family early?
This may seem like a weird question... But, how do you know your having twins already? Did you already hear a heartbeat?
Awww, I love this! Too bad mom's bday is in September.
This is exactly how we looked at it... we told immediate family last Thursday after we heard the heartbeat :-)
We will tell friends and extended family at 13 weeks.
With DC1 we called our parents within minutes of finding out. I don't think the pee on the stick was dry yet.
With DC2 we told at 5.5 weeks, we only waited a little bit longer then because we already had a trip planned and thought it would be more fun to tell in person. Which it was.
So with this baby we're still waiting to tell but we're heading that way this weekend so we'll be 11 weeks when I tell my parents and about 11.5 when we tell DH's. Definitely the longest we've waited but telling in person is SO much more fun so its been worth it to wait. Had our trip to visit been at 5-6 weeks we would've told then too.
I'm big on having support either way. We'd tell our parents regardless of what happened so why not let them know from the beginning if you want?
DH is telling his dad and brother this weekend. I am telling my SIL (DH's sister) this weekend as well. We want to tell our parents and siblings in person. Next weekend (19th & 20th) we will tell my dad & step mom and my mom & step dad.
I am hoping to hold out until Christmas to tell the rest of our family and friends but I doubt that will happen. I know I am going to have to stress to my mom NO FACEBOOK when I tell her. I have too many people I want to personally tell before they go and read it on a social networking web site!

I told my boss and a few close co-workers right away because I wanted to be able to complain to them when I wasn't feeling well.
Also I'm high risk and have had like 6 appts already and 3 u/s so I needed to be able to tell my boss why I was missing so much work.
We're telling both sets of parents tomorrow night because we're all going out to dinner for my 30th birthday. We're telling the rest of DH's family at Thanksgiving and I'll probably tell the rest of my family around then via phone call since they live so far away. I'll see them at Christmas but I don't think I want to wait that long.
This...
Yep. Two heartbeats. Had a ultrasound
Well congrats!! I hope we can hear our baby or babies heartbeat today at our u/s. Twins run in both sides of our family!
I told my family at 6 weeks. I made sure to stress that it's still early and a lot could still happen but that I would appreciate their prayers that everything goes smoothly.
I'm a horrible liar and when people would ask if I was pregnant yet I would smile and say no... which was a dead giveaway... haha
