Night feeding clicky

How do you occupy yourself at night?  I go sit in the glider and read so I can stay awake.  Right now I'm reading "Baby Laughs", which is great by the way.[Poll]

  • I sit in the dark quiet so she understands night vs day and doesn't get overstimulated.
  • Loading the player...
  • it may be terrible but I have to watch tv in order to stay awake...my baby feeds for 30 minutes at a time every 1 1/2 hrs so I am about to pass out at any second and im terrified of her getting smothered so I do keep the tv on

  • I keep the TV in our room on at a very low volume, and that works as our light for our feedings.  I usually watch the TV and have no idea what they are saying, or just watch her eat.

I joked the other day that by the time she is STTN, I will have watched all 20 years worth of Law & Order episodes.

same here.  I sit up on the edge of my bed (he sleeps in our room) and theres really no way I can fall asleep like that

  • My husband usually gets up and changes her and then brings her back into the bedroom so that I can feed her.  We have a nightlight in the bedroom so that we can somewhat see but its not bright enough for her to confuse day and night.  I can't use the TV because I still fall asleep but I have discovered that I will stay awake if I play around with my phone.  I usually check my e-mail, facebook, and the bump and then play a game that only requires one hand if she is still eating.
  • Night lights are our best friend. We have a night light in his bedroom and change him there. I either feed him in his room or in the living room completely dark just a very small lamp on dim. Usually dont fall asleep feeding but rocking and getting back down to sleep thats another story. I agree with overstimulation last night I had the tv on when feeding bc DH was on business and didnt like being alone. Baby was staring big eyed at the tv, granted its a huge flat screen!
