Upstate NY Babies

Hair cut needed

Hey ladies,

I can't believe how much has changed since I was last on the board. So many new little ones have arrived and are on the way. Congrats to all.

Greyson is growing leaps and bounds. His language is taking off and he is just filled with energy. He is into a VERY independent phase which causes struggles but we get through them.

I can't believe that he is almost 21 months and I am just asking about a haircut for him. But can anyone recommend something in the Buffalo area? Kiddie Cuts and More? Kids Cuts R Fun? Or should we just go into a Supercuts place?

TIA

Re: Hair cut needed

  • Evan has had quite a few haircuts, and honestly one of the best experiences was at Supercuts. I think from the shear volume of cuts they do they probably get plenty of younger kids so they know how to handle it.

We took him to that Kids Cuts place on Sheridan in Tonawanda, and it was a disaster both times. Even though we called for an appointment we had to wait for a while and it was sooo crowded. I felt like they rushed him in and out both times, and the lady was kind of rude. Plus, for Evan I think it was just too over-stimulating... he was upset he had to stop playing w/ the toys to get his haircut.

We actually just took him today to the place DH goes- Fusion Salon on Kenmore Ave. He freaked out the whole time, but the girl was great with him... really patient and tried to make him laugh.

  • we go to kids cuts are fun on Sheridan and have had good experiences.  We use Maggie.  She is super fast and does a good job in my opinion.  She just cut Sophia's hair on Saturday.

  • We've only done the kids cuts r fun place a few times. It's nothing special but it gets the job done. They do move really fast though. Most of the time I just trim his hair myself.
  • Thanks for the information. We ended up at Kiddie Cuts and More on Sheridan toward Transit. It was really nice and at the back of someone's house. Ms. Janet was really nice and was great with Greyson. She cut his first lock of hair and saved it for a card that she will make up for us. She has been doing this for 20 years. The shop was clean and had plenty to keep the kids entertained but not distracted.
