Trundle bed

Hi I hardley ever post but I have a question. I have a 2 year old dd and a 1 year old ds. They will have to share a room for now we have 3 bedrooms but one is an office and since my company lets me work from home I need the office. I am re decorating dd room as it is totally all girl. My question is does anyone have a trundle bed for kids and how sturdy is it of course ds will still be in crib. I just dont want to buy another bed later I would rather just have it all now. Oh and the room is small and both will be to little for awhile to use a bunk bed. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

 Thank you

Re: Trundle bed

  • We plan on doing that. We just got DSs bed from pottery barn, and you can fit a trundle under it for the same price as another bed. So when DD needs to share, we'll get it for his room and she'll sleep in there. That way we can hide it during the day and have room...we have tiny rooms. Either way, I like the idea to have extra space for sleepovers etc. Its nice that we have the option of buying it later and it fitting under the bed he has already.

  • My parents have a trundle bed at their house for the girls. It's a twin sized day bed. Perfectly sturdy. We're flying out for Thanksgiving and plan on having DD1 in the "main" bed and DD2 in the trundle part, left down on the lowest setting so she's closer to the floor just in case she rolls off. You can lock the wheels in place so it's basically just like another bed that can be lifted up and put down low.
