Austin Babies

AW: Bloggers

So, a few years back, I had a GREAT idea for a social observations book (about growing up in the valley vs. living outside of it - the place has some quirks), but I never really got around to it.

I do however, blog on a regular basis, so I got myself a domain name and used the name I wanted to use - Confessions of a Coconut - and have the blog almost to where I want people to look at it.

So for the bloggers out there - update your links! And, and, if I happen to not have your blog on my list on the right, reply with it and I'll add a link to you. :)

(and to you Weight Loss check-in peeps out there - that first post there has a few subtle whines and photographic evidence on how a 5lb loss can look like nothing. Stick out tongue)

As a Valley girl, I completely agree.
  • Ditto on needing to blog.  I miss it, but I feel like I have nothing to say and that no one is reading anyway.  I moved my blog to wordpress.org and I don't think anyone who read my blog before moved with me.  Sigh.  Le sad.

joycesblog.com.  :)  I know YOU read it already though.  But I'll have to update my links so I can read your new one!  Congrats and ITA about the Valley being completely different and weird.  My gram lived in Mission for 40+ years and my cousin was born there.  She's kinda weird.  ;)

  • where in the valley are yall from? The town we are living is in close to the Valley ( I think ... and Its been a HUGE adjustement for a lifetime Austinite ;)

I cannot imagine going backwards on that move. That has to be rough!  I'm from Edinburg.

I'm from Harlingen (the "white" city in the Valley) but all my family grew up in the the McAllen area. It's not as bad now because there are restaurants other than Chili's now. I can imagine that moving is an adjustment especially if you're not actually in the Valley that does have most stores/entertainment options.
  • We are actually only about an hour from Corpus, so like I said not really the Valley. Only commenting because of the difference in life all around vs Austin.
