boxed soups?

So I know it's not the best idea to eat canned soups because of the BPA, but it would be so much easier to bring soup with me to work to eat since I can't have any deli meat and I don't want to eat pbj's all the time.  But does anyone know if boxed soups are okay? I know I should drag out the crock pot and make my own soup, but that requires a level of energy I just really do not have, lol.

Thanks in advance!

  • i looked at the boxed soups and they have a really high sodium percentage. my dh has been kind enough to make enough prego friendly dinner that i can take the leftovers for lunch. who knew eating lunch could be so tricky?!

  • Uh-Oh I've eaten canned soup twice this week.....I thought BPA was just in plastics? Argh...One more food to cross off my list.

I would try the crock pot and make your own soup. You can always buy precut veggies in the produce department or frozen ones in the freezer section. I've even see bags of "stew vegetables" that is just cut up potatoes, carrots, pearl onions and celery. Maybe that would be easier for you?

(but I eat half a box of V8 soup every day for lunch. Good veggie and fiber content, easy to microwave at work,  cheap)

I've eaten canned soups at least twice since my bfp. Grilled cheese and tomato soup is my favorite comfort food. I agree with you on not living in a bubble. I'll cut out some things, but I won't go overboard.

    I enjoy those, too.
I don't actually eat a lot of canned soup- mostly because I don't enjoy the taste as much as a homemade soup. I make soup a lot and just double/triple batches and freeze.  But, sometimes I just need me a can of tomato soup or minestrone soup.

  •  I'll be having canned soup tonight. And I'll be making a grilled cheese with Velveeta to go along with it (gasp!)

I fully anticipate my child to be born with an extra appendage because of this :)
