This happened with my DD, although I don't remember it happening this early (granted I didn't document every pregnancy symptom so who knows how accurate my memory is!
) but since I've been struggling with dehydration issues and I'm trying to get more fluids in I've noticed that HB has been CRAZY! I'm taking my Rx Pepcid TID (three times a day) which is the max my OB has ok'd. And I'd rather not have to take it at all! But that's how bad it's been.
I've tried drinking some milk or watered down juice but everything is pretty much giving me HB. I just still find it so surprising that something as mild as water can give me such horrible HB!
Re: Anyone else getting heartburn from water?
I feel like my situation can be distilled to "I am getting heartburn from life".
It does not seem to matter what I eat/drink, or even IF I eat/drink....

I've been getting HB from water too. It's like my guts are so squished from LO that any liquid to try to really really hydrate if my tummy isn't empty, just gets pushed back up into my esphogus.
I would think that things that are thicker wouldn't be as likely to rise back up and give you heart burn. I was a CNA, and for people with swallowing issues that couldn't have actual water, we'd give them jello, since it's essentially just really thick sugar water. We also gave them lots of ice cream - but this was a good trick to get them extra calories since the swallowing issues made it hard for them to get the required amounts anyways. It might be worth trying though.

This is me. I think about food/water and I get heartburn.
My doc said water is the worst for heartburn. Acid is lighter than the water so the acid floats on top of all that water giving you the heartburn. Sucks I know!! I just eat tums like candy and take my pepcid before meals and it helps.
That's interesting! Maybe since the thick stuff is nice and viscous it sinks more easily.
I actually told MH last night that I get HB from existence.
This! The only thing I have found that helps is eating three or four bites of apple...
I get heartburn from water, too. It's been bad this whole pregnancy, and I'm allergic to Tums! I'm on the max dosage of Zantac 75 mg x 2 a day as approved by my OB. It barely makes it manageable.
Milk tends to help, and of course, I avoid spicy and acidic foods as best I can. It sucks having the mildest foods and beverages still set off a HB attack.

I understand! Weird that water is the worst thing!
My Dr told me to take Zantac 150 2xs a day. At my next appt I told the next Dr that didn't work, and she said to add a Prilosec a day and keep taking the Zantac. That seems extreem but she said it's OK. I haven't taken both. One Prilosec a day is enough to keep me functional. It works sooo much better than Zantac for me. I was waking up choking on reflux and terrified to go to sleep. Ask your Dr for the OK to try Prilosec, I swear, it has saved me!
You ladies stole the words out of my mouth. I think at this point, even the Tums give me heartburn!
