Typical length of a shower

So I've been to several showers, but never really paid attention to how long they lasted. I'm going to one this weekend that starts at 2. Do you think it'll be over by 4? I have something else that I'd like to do in the evening, but I'd have to leave the shower by 4:15ish.

About 3 hours give or take. Leave early if you have to be somewhere else though.

Most I have been to were anywhere from 2-3 hours.

Most of the ones I have been to were between 3-4 hours but my friends and family like to chat. I would stay as long as I could and then excuse myself politely if I had conflicting plans.

All the showers I've been to and hosted have lasted between 2-3 (although some people tend to linger). Usually the last part of the shower is gift opening time so if you have to leave early (looks like things are not winding down) and you don't care if you see the MTB open gifts then just leave. Normally a shower that starts at 2 will not have a meal...just maybe some munchies and cake. If they don't have games it might only last a couple of hours.

Ours is an 'open house' where people come before or after their work shift..so it may be 8 hours!?!?

Mine went from noon - four.

I also have 3 (mine, step, and DH's) l large Italian families who never stop talking! LOL

I went to one Sunday that started at 2pm, I left at 4pm and the mtb still had at least 45 minutes of gift opening left. Most are 2-3hours.

I'd say between 3-4 hours, possibly less if there's no food service. I think my mom has our room rented for 4 hours, but we don't expect it to last past 3, and have an hour "blocked out" for food, with socializing and games pre-lunch and more socializing and gift opening after.

My husband's family showers are not typical. They are day long social events. Most people are at least an hour late, if not more. So I started it at 2, and the last people left at 11pm. A good part was there from 3-6, and some others from 6-9, then just a couple of our close friends stayed behind. It was coed and had liquor and beer and everyone just had fun and hung out. Loved it.

if you aren't the host or the recipient of the shower, leave early. Being there for 2 hours is plenty of time for you to show your support.
