Pregnant after a Loss

Curious...when did you first feel movement

I'm going on 19 weeks right now and still don't 'think' I've felt any movement or anything. I'm starting to get a bit nervous.

So all first time moms...when did you first feel your baby move.

TIA

Re: Curious...when did you first feel movement

  • I first felt movement at 16.5 wks, but only when I was really still in the morning laying down.

I know some didn't feel movement till 23 weeks.  Sometimes it depends on where your placenta is.

  • 20 weeks and 2 days. ?don't worry! ?it's coming!!!?

  • Also can anyone describe what movement feels like.

    Thanks again

  • Mostly at first it was little tiny taps.   Down low below my belly button.  This is still a place where I feel kicks often.

Some say it feels like gas bubbles.

  • okay... ?here goes. ?you know when you have really bad gas and you hold it in and then it bubbles back up??? ?that's what it feels like. ?

it's very much like the sensation when your eye twitches and you can't control it and you're like "what the heck is going on?!?!" ?feels like that too. ?it's just weird and wondrous! ?

  • They eye twitch sensation is a perfect description.
  • Mine started about 18 weeks. Before the I thought, "is that gas"?? But about 18 weeks I started getting the tiny muscle spasms or twitches. Those will get stronger and eventually you'll get a little thump.?

?I have now moved into movement addiction. I need to feel movement all the time or I worry. I know the poor thing has to sleep, but I want to feel her all day!??

  • I first felt them at 18 weeks and it was like the eye twitch/ flutters.  Everyone feels them at different times though.  I'm sure you'll feel them soon!
  • I could feel them early, around 16 week when I laid on my stomach. After that, I could feel rolling and moving but not really kicks. That kind of felt like your sotmach dropping slightly and pressure. In the past few days, I've really started to feel kicks and much more often. I'm sure you'll feel them soon!!

  • I have an anterior placenta, so I did not feel movement until about 25 weeks, so hang in there.
  • I just recently started feeling movement in the last week or so but I have an anterior placenta.  I think it takes longer with your first baby.  Good luck!
