Austin Babies

Aaaaand spoke too soon.

Ok so I just got the call that I failed the ffn swaby test thing.  (Taytee please help me out if I get this wrong)  Which means that technically I could go into labor in the next few weeks.  The doctor is still optimistic and said not to worry. Just take it extra easy and call and any sign of change.  He is still going to see me next week and we will re-evaluate then.  As of now I am waiting on a call back to see if I need to be on bed rest.  (((sigh)))  Thanks for all the great support.

Again, I feel fine. It is just a lot to take in.

  • ack! i'm sure all of this "take it easy" they're giving you isn't making you feel less stressful. but i hear if you just keep your legs crossed, the baby won't show up early. :-P
  • (((hugs)))

I know everything is going to be okay, but I will still keep praying for Penny to stay put for several more weeks!

  • So many people having rollercoaster pregnancies right now!  I'm glad LO is at such a viable age, and hope she can stay put for a while longer.

  • A negative ffn test is a lot more reliable than a positive one, so a positive one is not a guarantee that you will go into labor. I had a positive one 2 weeks after I'd gone into preterm labor and had the baby over 3 weeks later (so 5 weeks total after the initial labor). There are still SO many things they can do to keep that baby put if you go into labor as long as your water doesn't break.

Remember the only thing you can control right now is what YOU are doing. I bet they put you on bed rest. Stay in bed unless you need to go to the bathroom. Get an ice chest of water, snacks, etc. to keep by your bed/couch so you aren't getting up for meals, etc if there's no one there to help you at the time. LIke I said before- stay hydrated! I'd also recommend a stool softener-- bleh-- things don't move along quite as well when you're just sitting all day.

    Hang in there!

  • Closed cervix dust to you!

As the momma of a Penelope who was six weeks early, all my thoughts and prayers are with you!  I am glad your doc is so optimistic.  I hope you're finding a way to relax and take it easy, even though I know how hard that can be while trying to process all this.

Hugs and dust for Miss Penny to stay put!

  • Lots of stay put dust your way!  And dude, even if they don't, put yourself on bedrest.  Take it super easy and let your body focus on growing a healthy baby =)
  • A similar thing happened to one of my BFFs. She made it to week 39! Long story short - you could too! :)
  • I didn't get to post earlier, but I'll be thinking about you and sending tons of dust that she stays put for a while longer. Good luck "taking it easy!" I'm sure that's easier said than done.
  • Lots of stayputbaby dust for you!!!

  • I failed it with baby #3 and didn't go into labor for another month or so. I was a bit further along than you, though, so it was safe at that time.  I did get an rx for Terbutaline and was told to bedrest (with 2 toddlers- ha!).  Anywho, Hope that gives you a little reassurance.  Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

  • You have no idea how much these positive wishes and advice help!  Thank you all so much.  I dont know what it is but my gut feeling is that everything will be fine.

Doc said not to travel for Thanksgiving but I would be ok for Christmas (even he thinks I will last that long). No official bedrest but my happy butt is sitting in my work chair and only getting up to hit the watercooler for a refill.

I love you ladies so much!
