when do kids learn how to do this? My mom showed DD this weekend (when I wasn't around) and said she thought I should start trying to teach this to DD.
My DD is in Kindy and is just now learning how to tie her shoes. As a matter of fact, at parent/teacher conference, the teacher mentioned every kid in her class started the year knowing how ro read but not one of them could tie their shoes. I'm not sure what that says, but I thought it was interesting.
My 5 year old was taught this August (she turned 5 in June) by a neighborhood girl who was helping my ILs watch her one day. My nephew just turned 8 and learned within the last year. Honeslty, with all the velcro and non-tie shoes out there these days, I think it really varies. I do think the average age is around 6-8 nowadays.
It's on the list of skills they're supposed to master by the end of Kindy in our school district.
I think you've got some time.
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
