?'s for PT boys..

in Pre-School and Daycare
DS will be 3 in December. We have started potty training and he's doing very well at it, he does both in his potty seat without problems. I have to keep him naked to go, he'll pee if he's wearing underwear. If I do put underwear on him I am constantly asking him if he has to go. Should I keep the underwear on him or keep them off? Should I just go with the flow of things or keep on him to go? Whatever advice that you have would be appreciated....

    I kept underwear on DS.  I would just sit him on the potty every 2-3 hours and also ask him if he had to go.  I truly believe what others say when they state that "they'll be ready when it's their time".  Keep working at it though.

    If you are having success with the nakedness, I would say keep going with that for now, to keep the whole experience positive. Then gradually increase undie-time once he starts consistently initiating going potty himself. And I totally agree that every kid potty trains at their own special time- we can encourage it but not force it!

    this is what we did. But it ended up being every 1-2 hours to prevent accidents. And, we went straight to the toilet and skipped the little potty. I was so god we did that.

    We really hit potty training hard at 2 1/2 years, but DS wasn't ready, he got so frustrated that he kept peeing in his pants. So we quit for about 2 months, then one day he told me that he didn't want to wear diapers any more and that he wanted to wear big boy underwear, from that day on he didn't go in his pants.

    While we were trying to potty train, we did the Cheerios in the toilet and he had fun trying to target his pee at the Cheerios. (made him want to go in the potty)
