Now its more real for me, the doc called yesterday to sched my c-section... 2/9 still seems forever away. I am starting to freak out now, I never wanted to have a c-section, just wanted to do it natural however its not really an option for me.
Doctors said i could "try" to do a natural vag birth however chances of me ending up with a c-section was about 80-90%... so I opted to just sched.
Any advice for keeping your cool, and not freaking out??? I have NEVER had any type of surgery so im a little worried!
Re: FTM- C-Section sched...
I would suggest you read as much as you can about the procedure. I'm having my 4th scheduled in January.
I make a list of the things i'm dreading. The IV, the blood work, the prep/shave of your belly, and last but not least that horrible acid reducer drink. Then one by one I cross them off my mental list and before you know it, its time to meet your new baby!
I also find it comforting to remind myself that the Dr's and nurses do C-sections ALL THE TIME. Trust them!
But I agree with PPs to research all you can. I had a planned one due to Placenta Previa and I was glad I did my research.
Also, talk with your hospital/Dr about Aroma Therapy to calm you before the surgery. I had the option of that, but surprisingly when the day came, I was super calm and cool about the procedure.
