Baby Pic Monday - 11/7

IMG_4991

Happy Monday! Can you believe it is November already?!?!

Newest milestone for LO:  She finally rolled over on Friday!!!  She still seems confused when she does it though.  She is also sitting up on her own for quite a long time now.

Favorite food for LO?  She tried some of my whole wheat pancake yesterday and really liked it.  She also loves her broccoli trees (we are doing BLW), but broccoli seems to give her really bad gas :(

Sounds?  DD is saying 'ba' and 'da' and blowing lots of raspberries at us.

Hardest thing about being a mom so far?  Trying to live more in the moment - there are so many things I am looking forward to doing with DD and I am eager for her to be able to do them.  But I need to keep reminding myself to enjoy her moments now before I miss them!!!

Couldn't pick just one picture...just got these back from JCP

Newest milestone for LO:  She's crawling!  YIKES!  This milestone is as of like an hour ago!  It's more of an army crawl than a traditional crawl, but still scary, she's everywhere!  She can also sit up now for ever, she's figured out how to fold herself completely in half to reach for a toy and sit back up.

Favorite food for LO?  Fish sticks, she eats two or three each time she has them.  Mac and cheese is also a big favorite.  Carrots and broccoli are always winners.

Sounds?  She loves making raspberries, she has stopped making the 'da' and 'ba' sounds recently, I'm guessing that's since she's working on things like sitting, crawling, and teething.  Oh, she loves screaming and squealing.

Hardest thing about being a mom so far?  Remembering to let her play by herself so I can get the housework done!

Liam and me on Halloween. Our downtown does its own "trick-or-treat" for kids, so we stopped at the Art Center (where Jared teaches), and they took our pic :-)

    Happy Monday!

Newest milestone for LO:  He army crawls all over, but he doesn't "crawl-crawl" yet. He also "might" be doing the Baby Sign Language signs for "eat" and "dog," but I can't tell for sure. For eat, you just put your hand to your mouth, and for dog, you pat your leg like you're calling a dog. He does "eat" all the time, and "dog" whenever the dogs are around.

Favorite food for LO?  He loves everything. This and his doing the "eat" sign all the time are why his nickname is "Baby Eat, Eat."

Sounds?  I have the best video of him ever doing what I call "scream-talking"

Hardest thing about being a mom so far?  With grading, I really do work about 80 hours a week, and since Jared is mostly a SAHD, I try to freelance on the side for extra money. I'm always about to go crazy. Yesterday, an online student (whose poetry I privately edit--as in not through a college, just a "work with a writer" online school) reminded me that I'd forgotten to get back to him. YIKES! He's actually someone I graduated from grad school with, so he has an MFA in creative writing, and he's understanding about it, but OOPS. I normally edit his work and have it back to him by Friday, I just forgot this week.

    Chase and I on Halloween.

Newest Milestone for LO:  He just started getting up onto his hands and knees, but only for a second or two before he's back on his tummy.  I have a feeling he's going to be crawling soon.

Favorite food for LO:  We haven't found anything he doesn't like yet.  He loves all new flavors and textures, but we've given him chicken three times now, and he will always reach for it before reaching for the other things on his plate.

Sounds: He mostly just practices his vowels and blows raspberries, though I heard him say Mama once perfectly.  I realize he was babbling but it was slow and perfect.

Hardest thing about being a Mom so far:  Just trying to balance my time.  Since I work during the day, I want to spend as much time in the evening with him while I can.  I stopped going to my Martial Arts class in the evening because of an injury (Dislocated shoulder) but now I can start back and I'm reluctant to because by the time I get home, I will have 30 minutes with him before bedtime.

  • Newest milestone for LO:  C started crawling on Halloween and she just started pulling up on the couch. I can't believe how fast she is growing :(

Favorite food for LO?  She just loves food - everytime we feed C it seems like she just is amazed at the new flavors.

Sounds?  DD has been saying "Ma-ma," "Da-da," and "ba-ba" for a couple of months now. She started clapping last friday! (I think that counts as a sound, right?)

Hardest thing about being a mom so far?  Trying to balance work, being a mom, being a wife, and having fun.

Newest Milestone for LO:  She can sit up unassisted for as long as she wants, she crawls, she pulls herself up to standing on everything, she waves and just recently she started dancing!

Favorite food for LO:  She loves everything we give her!

Sounds: She vocalizes quite a bit but no words as of yet.

Hardest thing about being a Mom so far:  That's a good question...I don't really have an answer though, I don't think anything is too tough.

Newest milestone for LO:  Pictured above. He learned how to sit from a laying down position on Saturday and on Sunday, he pulled himself up on his crib after a nap. Getting so big! :(

Favorite food for LO? Bananas and sweet potatoes have been popular, but he likes everything. We're also doing BLW!

Sounds?  He says mama and mom all the time now because he sees it gets a reaction out of me. Also dadada and bababa something that sounds a lot like 'yeah'.

Hardest thing about being a mom so far? The loss of alone time will probably always be an adjustment. I've been a lover of solitude since I was really little!

  • Newest milestone for LO:  He's army crawling. He scoots his butt up to crawl for about 2 steps, but then it's back to belly down, but mannn does he move fast!

Favorite food for LO?  He will eat anything!  He loves when I give him some of whatever i'm eating. He seems to get a kick out of the fact that he's starting "real" food

Sounds?  I wake up to babbling every morning. It's enough sounds to make real words, but nothing yet. He thinks he's having conversations though! Stick out tongue

Hardest thing about being a mom so far?  I was never a morning person! I gave up caffeine when I was pregnant and luckily don't need my coffee to function anymore. I still have a cup just about daily, but I don't punch anyone before I drink it! LOL I'm up and smiling as early as P decides to start our day (how can you not wake up happy with a happy little face looking at you?!)  But I miss sleeping in! The lack of sleep in general has been the worst part in out house- and he's not even a bad sleeper!

I just posted this on 6-9, so i'll use this pic. Taken this weekend. 7 mos

Newest milestone for LO:  Sitting up (officially) and scooting.

Favorite food for LO? LOVES Pears.  She goes crazy for them.

Sounds?  I swear she is saying "maaaa"

Hardest thing about being a mom so far?  Leaving her for work everyday.  It's not as hard as it used to be, but I really do miss her all day long.

A picture of Gavin and I at his first football game this weekend....Chargers vs Packers in San Diego. The rain sucked, but the Packers won!

Newest milestone for LO:  Crawling at super speed and pulling himself up to stand on anything he can reach....couch, coffee table, chairs, crib, my legs, our dresser....its crazy. I'm half expecting him to walk any day now.Favorite food for LO? Pears, sweet potato and butternut squash. Sounds?  He started squeaking really loud...he almost sounds like a dolphinHardest thing about being a mom so far?  Finding enough time in the day for even the most basic stuff....getting ready for work, cleaning, cooking, dishes....and still giving Gavin as much attention and love as possible.
