Still Bleeding

My son is seven weeks old, and I am still bleeding. I had my check up with my doctor and she gave me the ok to have sex. Two days later I started bleeding again..heavy...even very small clots. So we stopped...and my bleeding stopped again...we waiting a few more days until having sex, but sure enough two days after having sex, I started bleeding again..and heavily. I lost a lot of blood after having birth...I am taking iorn pills twice a day. I know most of you are going to say...stop having sex...but should I really be bleeding like this? Even after wating..??

    Are you BFing?  If not, it's possible your period has already returned.

    Otherwise, I would think heavy bleeding at 7 weeks PP warrants a call to your OB

    I bled for about 8.5 weeks after having my son.  There wasn't anything wrong and it was similar to a medium period.  Don't know why it wouldn't stop.  I was ok'ed for sex at 4 weeks even though I was still bleeding.

    Anyway, you should check in with your OB or midwife, maybe you still have some placenta, etc.
