I was lurking on the babies 0-3 board & came across a post ab pampers diapers. The mom said that the drymax diapers gave her LO a chemical burn. I've been on google looking for info & I found some articles from May 2010, but nothing more recent. For any BTDT moms, if you used pampers drymax, did you have any issues like this?
Re: Pampers Drymax issues/recall???
I never had an issue at all, and I LOVE Pampers. My DD and my nephew used/use them. I did read the big controversy, but I'm not sold. If you compare the boxes, the ingredients are exactly the same. They haven't added any new chemicals or anything. And the new drymax were put in old boxes in like August 2009, and complaints didn't start until like April/May 2010 when the new boxes came out. IMO, If it was a problem, it would have been caught sooner.
I plan to start with pampers swaddlers. IF I run into a problem, I'll switch. I've heard there's a CVS brand that's actually really similiar to pampers.
I just know that I hate huggies and luvs. haha.

They do now. The newborn sensitive ones don't. The Canadian government investigates and said that Dry Max doesn't cause chemical burns, but I had a bad experience and only use the ones without Dry Max.
I won't be using them for this reason; DH and I have stupidly sensitive skin, so I am just assuming she will too.
I've heard great things about the Target Up&Up brand and the Costco Kirkland brand, and I plan to go with those.
We like both the Target and the Costo brands.
In the hospital after my baby was born they started using Pampers Swaddlers NB on her. Before giving birth I had decided I was going to use Huggies and I started to after I ran out of the diapers given by the hospital. The Huggies NB did not hold up well. I constantly had to change her clothes because when she pee'd it went upwards and the cut for the umbilical cord was too close so they always leaked. I decided to start using the Pampers Choice diapers from the diaper cake I had from the baby shower. Well after using them for 1 day she ended up with these crazy blisters all over her bottom. In some places it even looked like she was bleeding. It was either the diapers or the Johnson and Johnson Corn Starch baby powder I also had just started using. I contacted her doctor and they advised me immediately to go back to the diapers I was using before and the baby powder and to make an appointment. Well, I didn't want to go back to using the Huggies because they leaked so I found the Pampers Dry Max New Baby and decided I would try them because they are hypoallergenic. I also changed the wipes to the Pampers Sensitive wipes. Her bottom started to clear up. When I went to the doctor and they prescribed an ointment for possible yeast infection and said to start using A&D Ointment instead of Desitin. I have continued to use the Pampers Swaddler Dry Max and thus far have loved them. I have been disappointed that I have not found them anywhere. I ran out of them and started using the Pampers Swaddler regular diapers and her bottom started getting a bit red again in the cracks, but not blistery. Thankfully a relative was able to find the Dry Max for me in their state. I started using them again and her bottom cleared up quickly. I am still having a hard time finding them at least in the size and quantity that I would like.
