And how did you know they were ready to consolidate their naps? LO wakes around 7am, naps for 1.5 hours around 10:30a, naps again around 3:30 for an hour, in bed by 8.

Our DCP transitioned her to 1 nap a day around a year old. She thought she was ready for it and that got all the kids on the same schedule. It took a bit of an adjustment but I think it was for the best because she was only taking two 45 minute naps a day.
Ryan has been down to one nap (most days) for about 2 months. From what I hear, this is not the norm for kids his age, however in order for him to move to the next room at day care, he needs to be on their nap schedule (1 nap from 12-2).
So we started about 2 months ago, but we were very flexible with it. If it seemed like he needed an extra nap one day, we allowed him to have it. His night time sleep improved significantly when we dropped him to one nap.

DS moved to the toddler room at DC around 13 months, and they have a schedule that allows for one nap. He still took two naps at home on the weekends though, for about 2 months after that. When he was @15 months old, he just stopped showing signs of needing that morning nap, and we moved to the one nap at home (still the one nap at school).
Around 15 months and, in all honesty, he wasn't really ready but he moved to the toddler room, where they only nap once.
We tried keeping him at 2 naps on weekends (because he is a VERY early riser) but as soon as he went down to 1 at DCP, he refused to take a second one at home.
DS used to have the same schedule as your LO, but an hour earlier.
LO was maybe close to a year and a half, or maybe a little younger, like maybe 15-16 months, at this time she was transitioning to the toddler room and they have to be on the 1 nap schedule to move over. She naps about about 12-12:30 to about 1:30-2pm.
Daycare moved to one nap around 12 months. We have still done 2 naps on the weekends and continue to do so because she needs it. I think she is just now starting to transition.
I'm not eager for him to drop a nap- yes, it makes some days a little harder to get things done out of the house, but I love having some time to get things done and napping myself.

I'm really surprised so many babies moved to 1 nap so young! DD is 14 months and still takes two 1-2 hour naps a day and sleeps about 11 hours a night.
Somewhere around 15-16 months. She started fighting the afternoon nap like crazy. Eventually I gave up on even trying and she pushed her morning nap back a bit. It seemed like it took forever for her to officially and happily switch to one.
Around 14 months. Her morning nap seemed to be getting shorter, and her afternoon nap became later in the day--to the point that she would wake up around 5:30 pm and not want to go back down until 10:00. When she transitioned to 1 nap, it was much better. She naps for 2.5-3 hours.

DS1= 13 months
DS2= 10 months, but will cat nap in the morning if we're in the car or stroller about once a week

When she transitioned to the toddler room at daycare at 13 months.
She still has weekend days where she'll be ready for a nap by like 9:00am. We just roll with it, unless we have something to do.
