I was super excited when I found the perfect maternity dress
to wear to my husbands Christmas party/weekend get away (it's a big
deal). I bought it and I have to admit I look pretty good!!! EXCEPT my
rock hard Beyonce bum, thunder thighs and calves that have been so
kindly passed down to me... have turned into cottage cheese. Not pretty.
Trust me. I didn't realize how bad it was until tried on this dress.
(Rewind a little... When I got pregnant I had just got some real momentum going with my weight loss. I was in a committed routine and told myself that I was going to keep up the healthy eating and exercising (appropriate for pregnancy) ... Not focus on the weight loss or what my body looks like and just be healthy. The only part I've been able to stick with is not giving a hoot what my body looks like. When exercising before I just went all out... if it didn't burn and I didn't want to through up... I wasn't done.)
Well... 4 months of being pregnant changes a women... but I don't want to give birth and be stuck with a mess of a body to work with. With my first pregnancy I was running miles daily up until the 6th month of my pregnancy.
I want to get my body toned again not just for looks sake... but so I can feel good about myself after my baby girl gets here. Is there anyone that KNOWS what they're talking about when it comes to getting in shape while being pregnant? How can I safely workout while pregnant and see results? Any resources out there?
Thank You!!!
Re: Christmas party LBD meet my cottage cheese.
The best way to manage your weight control during pregnancy is to manage your intake. Eat good, healthy foods. Eat until full. Avoid sweets, chips, foods high in sodium, late night carb-bingeing, fast food and sodas. These are not only going to put on the pounds, but they are not good for that sweet babe growing inside of you.
I feel that being pregnant can be super-hard on the ego. I found that my confidence dropped a little every time I stepped on that scale at the dr's office. Walking, doing yoga, swimming, and getting a pregnancy DVD can all aid in getting in good, safe exercise while pregnant. Remember that every pregnancy is different, so if you ran with the first one but are unable to do so this time around, there are other options for staying in shape while you're pregnant.
EVERY WOMAN gives a hoot as to what her body looks like...you're not alone. The ones who say they don't are lying. There is no void during pregnancy button on that one. But, remember that it's not forever, and in 5 months you'll have another sweet baby. The better you eat now, the easier it will be to get back that rock-hard body-after-baby when she comes.
Best of luck, you HOT MAMA!!
