Right now, DD (4 weeks) is in an eat, wake, sleep routine. Occasionally, she will fall asleep while nursing and I let her sleep when she does. She has always been good about waking, nursing then back to sleep overnight. We currently put her in PJs, swaddle, feed whenever she wakes around 9-10pm...sometimes as late as 11pm. At what point does this become too late?
since she will nurse and go right back down between the time we "officially" put her to bed and wake for the day between 6-7am, I am afraid that if we move up bedtime, we are tempting fate b/c she does so well overnight and really doesn't need 12 consecutive hours overnight. Ideas? Suggestions?
Re: Bedtime question - and night sleep
As she gets older she'll naturally fall into an earlier bed time. At 4 weeks she's still kind of sleeping whenever she's ready.
Probably between 8 - 10 weeks you'll want to start getting her ready for bed during her awake time in the evening so that she'll be ready for bed when she gets sleepy around 7-9.
I wouldn't be in a big hurry to get her to bed earlier and if she's sleeping well at night don't rock the boat!
LOL! I wish. She is up a few times to nurse or with gas. But at night, she will easily go back to sleep. We know she is starting "daytime" when she's awake in the morning.
This sounds about right. I wouldn't change anything until you notice it's not working anymore.
