Ugh waking up sick every night?? WTH

So I was seriously uncomfortable and couldn't have a BM for my life about 4 days ago so I took some milk of magnesium like my OB said too... well it made me super nauseous and I felt like puking all night but still no BM at all freaking wonderful right? But now since then I get these massive waves of nausea randomly during the day.. like really rough, to the point where I have a package of saltines and ginger ale within reach 24/7... and the past 3 nights I have woken up out of a dead sleep multiple times with the overwhelming need to throw up... I have not thrown up once and I still have not had a BM (although now I don't even feel the need to). WTH! I haven't been eating any differently or any more or less and it isn't hungry nausea or my 1st tri morning sickness it's straight up intense need to puke that I remember from eating too much popcorn at the movies when I was younger (every single time I went to the movies I'd be up at 2am that night throwing up never fail haha)

Re: Ugh waking up sick every night?? WTH

  • Welcome to late pregnancy...  My strong urges to throw up seem to be directly related to the amout of stomach acid churning up my esophagus at any given time.  But being woken from a dead sleep with the overwhelming urge to throw up really sucks!

  • It could be acid reflux! I told my OB about the same thing and she had me start taking Prilosec and it has helped soooo much! Before I started taking it I'd have a sore throat when I woke up, would wake from a dead sleep feeling like I needed to puke, and would feel like I had heartburn during the day. That one little pill made a world of difference (and Tums did not help at all, BTW). If that it what you have you don't need to suffer! Also, the acid could be damaging your esophagus, so it is good to take the meds as a preventative. I'd call your OB to ask about it.

  • Oh yuck! Yea I have had the worst heartburn/indigestion... FI and I have nicknamed it Dragon Throat because I literally feel like there is fire coming from my throat... it isn't even the liquid acid like it used to be it's almost like the fumes from it hahahahahaha!!! I wish I could blame this on that but I can't... it doesn't feel like it at all I almost wonder if I have a stomach bug but no one I know has one or has been around one and it all started from taking that milk of magnesium, but for it too last 4 days?!? So strange... late pregnancy is getting to me it is time for baby to come out!

  • I wake up around 2:30 every night to be sick. Sometimes I don't actually vomit, but I feel like I could. Poor DH has moved to the guest room.

Oh, and I take Prilosec 40 every night but this is not heartburn, it's straight up needing to be sick. I'm just so ready to be done.
