DF, SF Thanksgiving questions

DD is MSPI and I am not doing soybean oil or lethicin either. I plan to try to reintroduce soon but in the mean time. We host Thanksgiving. I know that I will have control over the turkey but the stuffing DH likes has soy in it. If I don't eat the stuffing is the meat safe if the stuffing was cooked inside the bird? Any thoughts on a gravy sub? Thanks!

Re: DF, SF Thanksgiving questions

  • You could use the soy free version of Earth's best for the turkey.  For the stuffing- it's actually super easy to make your own and if you get soy free bread you're in good shape.Gravy is also easy to make- use drippings from the turkey and cornstarch or flour.

  • I've always read that cooking the stuffing inside the turkey can dry out the turkey and contaminate the stuffing if the internal temp doesn't get high enough, so I always cook it separately.  I would just do that and then your DH can have his stuffing and you don't have to worry about getting the soy in your turkey.
