Another jeans post

If this isn't irony in its finest form, I don't know what is.

So, I got my jeans.  I love them.  I prance around in them all day.

This weekend we went shopping with MIL to get clothes for DD.  I've never been able to find jeans that are big enough for her booty but short enough for her legs.  Yes, its a hereditary problem.

Anyway, we found some.  They fit like perfectly and could not be a more perfect length.  She looks sooooo cute and I am so glad that she can finally wear jeans without rolling them up.

So, guess where they were from?

Janie and Jack.  Of course.  I didn't pay for them, MIL did, because I NEVER would have spent that much on jeans that she will wear for a month max.  But the irony hit me this morning as I was putting them on her.  Like mama like daughter!

Re: Another jeans post

  • And you will spend that and more on her and not blink an eye. It's just one of those things that we tend to let our frugalness go for our kids because they look soooo cuuute!

  • AARG I have the same problem with Layna.  I was so hoping you'd say you found them at Walmart.

Little chick is 3 years old and 4Ts are too tight in the waist.  5Ts are waaay too long.  Not to mention that it blows my mind that my JUST 3 yr old needs 5T when Jakob started kinder wearing 5Ts!

  • I'm not allowed to send DD to daycare in jeans anymore as they're "too hard to get on and off her booty."

    LOL!

And we're in the same boat. She needs at least a 2T, and a 3T in some brands to go around her booty and chubby belly/legs. However, even 24 months is way too long. I've been dong a lot of hemming, which makes me want to scream. Have you ever hemmed tiny little baby leg holes?! Shoot me now.

And I, also, was hoping you were going to say some inexpensive brand. Janie and Jack ... not gonna happen. You have such a generous MIL! My MIL asks me to pay her rent, Angry because we're "rich" (read: make over $7 an hour).

She's very, very generous.  I couldn't believe how much she dropped at J&J.  It made me a little nauseous.  And a little sad for A because I can count on one hand the number of outfits I have bought new for her.  Most of her stuff is mlf and mrslaquinta handmedowns.  I just can't spend a ton of money on things she'll only wear 3-4 times, ya know?

We are lucky in that DD's daycare teachers all love the big booty.  I was telling them about her jeans this morning and how I was excited we finally found some that fit.  I said, "She has a huge booty problem like her mama," and they said, in unison, "That isn't a problem!!"  HA!

  • Dude, whatever, my kids wear Joe's.  Grandma buys 'em, grandma can afford 'em, and they look HELLA cute.

I wish we were like mama like daughter, though.  I want legs up to my neck like Vivi!

With handmedowns like that, I probably wouldn't buy baby clothes much, either.

And SLB, why don't you just roll her pants legs?  I cannot imagine trying to hem baby pant legs!

Sometimes I do (see siggy). For the most part, her legs are just short and are probably going to stay that way, so I hem. And hem, and hem. Have I mentioned I've never hemmed a pair of my own pants?!

And LL, Liv almost exclusively wears used clothes, too. A looks cute all the time, and hand-me-downs are the best for kids!

  • Jeans are so hard to buy for babies/toddlers..and if they do fit perfectly, they won't for long. I loved the yoga pants from TCP when DD was younger. I'm also a big fan of stretchy jeggings.
