baby carriers post c/sec

Is there any particular baby carriers you've use that don't touch the incision? I seriously hated my bjorn last time and have an ergo and a babyhawk this time but not sure if I'll have to wait till incision heals before I can use them. Did anyone use either of those? how soon post-op?

Re: baby carriers post c/sec

  • I used a baby hawk with DS1 at 3 weeks old. With DS2, I had a baby k'tan and I used it the first week we were home. It's the only way I could get anything done. It's more like a moby then an erog/babyhawk. It didn't touch my incision.

  • I had a couple of slings w/ DS but for some reason couldn't figure them out. I might have had the wrong size but would rather have something a little more structured.

  • I had the Becco and remember only being able to use it for short amounts of time 3 weeks post-partum but by 7 weeks I was in good shape. I plan to use it again for my second daughter.

  • I used my Moby after a week and a half or so.  Not for hours or anything, but it was fine for awhile.

  • I started using my Moby within the first week and never had a problem and I've got an extremely short torso.

  • I used a moby about a month out.

  • I used my BabyHawk 2 weeks out. I've only worn my BH at my waist, if its lower then it hurts my hips, so it never bothered my incision. HTH.

This... I've used mine some but it's kind of painful after awhile.  Hoping to use it more as I get further out from my c/s.
